Botanica Shango

Started in 2008 by Pete Delgado, this West Capitol Avenue botanica grew into a regional chain (about four locations, including Yuba City and Rancho Cordova) and records its own in-house Spanish-language podcast on saints, candles and spiritual readings alongside the usual spiritual-supply shelves.

The move: Browse the candle, statue, and incense aisles together, then queue up an episode of the shop's own podcast on the drive home to decode what you just bought.
