Entry No. 7 — the Sacramento file — filed under: streetcars

Western Railway Museum

An all-volunteer heritage railway on the edge of the Suisun Marsh preserving the largest surviving fleet of Sacramento Northern Railway and Key System electric streetcars — buy a ticket and you don't just look at the trolleys, you ride an 11-mile loop on a century-old electric interurban car.

The move: Get timed weekend tickets, ride the vintage streetcar out through the marsh together, then wander the car barn where a retired BART train sits parked next to 1900s wooden interurbans.

Where: 5848 State Highway 12, Suisun City, CA 94585

Hours: Added 2026-07-20 — confirm current hours before you go.
