Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel

A revived 1950s motor lodge sitting almost on top of the US-Mexico border line, built around three geothermal mineral pools fed by natural hot springs — the Ritual Pool and Solstice Pool (both 88-93F) plus the smaller indoor Echo Room (102F) — with poolside cocktails and "high desert elixirs" served at the cabanas.

The move: Buy a 21+ day pass to the Ritual Pool (9am-9pm), soak with a cocktail from the cabana bar, then walk the short distance to the border wall itself before dinner at the on-site Long Shadow restaurant.
