Albany Bulb

A former construction-debris landfill jutting into the Bay became an unsanctioned outdoor gallery: Mad Marc's rebar-and-concrete castle (saved from demolition when its builder argued it was 'a work of art, not a shelter'), a 25-foot driftwood ship called SNIFF cursed against vandals, and painted rocks, metal sea gods, and Styrofoam archways scattered along unmarked trails.

The move: Walk the loop trail at low tide with the SF skyline across the water, hunting for sculptures that shift or vanish year to year since nothing here is officially maintained — bring the dog, it's off-leash friendly.
