Entry No. 33 — the San Francisco file — filed under: tiki

Smuggler's Cove

A three-level tiki den marked only by a red lightbulb and a small placard on an otherwise unmarked facade, holding over 1,300 rums and a shipwreck-and-nautical-artifact interior built to feel like you've climbed inside a smuggler's hideout, not a bar.

The move: Watch for the red bulb on an otherwise blank storefront on Gough Street, then work through the multi-level space — waterfall wall, faux-shipwreck nook, upstairs loft — over a flight of rum flavors from three centuries of cocktail history.

Where: 650 Gough Street, San Francisco, CA 94102
