Pin Point Heritage Museum

Housed in the surviving buildings of the shuttered A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory on the Moon River marsh, this museum preserves the Gullah-Geechee community founded here by formerly enslaved people in the 1890s — through guided tours, exhibits, and a documentary film narrated by residents who grew up shucking and picking in this exact plant until it closed. Open Thursday–Saturday.

The move: Watch the resident-narrated documentary in the old factory building, then walk the boardwalk out over the marsh where the oyster boats used to dock before the seafood was processed inside.
