WEBB Military Museum

Gary Webb started collecting military relics at age 10 while stationed with his Air Force father in Germany, scavenging flea markets and old battlefields; decades later his private hoard fills a converted shopfront with Hitler's napkins from his Bavarian retreat, Dachau prisoner clothing, Saddam Hussein's uniform, a Robert E. Lee letter, and a MiG jet, alongside his own Vietnam draft card and his mother's Blitz-era gas mask.

The move: Wander self-guided through eight U.S. conflicts' worth of personal-effects displays — letters, diaries, uniforms — then pick up a piece of cannonball shrapnel or a patch from the small gift counter on the way out.
