Entry No. 56 — the Wichita file — filed under: hands-on

MakeICT

A sprawling member-run makerspace with dedicated shops for ceramics, woodworking, metalworking, jewelry, textiles, screen printing, and electronics. The ceramics area alone runs over 1,100 square feet, split between a main work space and a dedicated kiln room for wheel-throwing, hand-building, and glaze experiments. Classes are taught by members and rotate constantly, with beginner intro sessions across many of the disciplines. It is the closest thing Wichita has to a one-stop hands-on craft hub.

The move: Sign up for a beginner intro class together, then throw clay on the wheel side by side in the ceramics studio.

📍 Before you go Class offerings and dates rotate; browse the events calendar to find an intro session open to non-members.
