Entry No. 49 — the Boise file — filed under: arcade-play
Realms
Realms ditches the coin slot entirely: one flat admission buys free play on the whole floor, no tokens or quarters. But it runs on a quirky timed system, with roughly 20-25 minute sessions per game and a four-hour cap on the games pass, so it's structured more like a game lounge than a quarter-munching arcade. It's also fiercely all-ages, a doubling as a Boise music venue that famously gave up its beer-and-wine license rather than turn 21+. Expect a wall of pinball, fighting-game and rhythm cabinets (Mortal Kombat, DDR), console stations, and live shows; under-18s clear out by 11pm when the late-night sets run on.
The move: Grab matching wristbands and race the session timer to sample as many games as possible before your four-hour pass runs out.
📍 Before you go Closed Mon/Tue; flat free-play pass with per-game session limits and a 4-hour cap; under-18s out by 11pm.
