Neon Grove — Quirky Museums & Collections in Boise

Entry No. 21 — the Boise file — filed under: outdoor

Neon Grove

Boise's first open-air neon sign gallery, unveiled in October 2024, where six rescued and restored vintage commercial signs glow along a single block. The lineup includes salvaged signs from a defunct motel, an auto park, a cleaners, and a truck-stop cafe, each painstakingly rewired to its original mid-century form. It functions as a permanent outdoor light installation and an accidental museum of Boise's vanished storefronts.

The move: Show up right at dusk to watch the old signs flicker on, then walk the block naming the businesses that no longer exist.

Where: North side of Grove Street between 12th & 13th Streets, Boise, ID
