The Jessie Mine and Mill

Active from the late 1880s to the early 1900s, the Jessie Mine and Mill was once one of the largest gold, silver, and lead mining complexes in the Breckenridge area. Today, the partially intact 1893 wooden stamp mill—the only remaining stamp mill in Summit County—stands as a striking relic of the gold rush. Visitors can also spot the remains of several mine openings on the hillside above the mill structure.

The move: Hike or snowshoe along the scenic Gold Run Trail to view the historic wooden stamp mill and read the interpretive signs detailing the area's mining history.

📍 Before you go The site is located along the public Gold Run Trail with interpretive signs, allowing visitors to legally view the exterior of the historic 1893 stamp mill and hillside mine openings, but entering the structures or mine shafts is strictly prohibited and highly dangerous.
