Entry No. 51 — the Bozeman file — filed under: soak
Norris Hot Springs
A geothermal soaking pool fed by chemically-free mineral water, with locally-milled fir planks laid right over the source and the water held around 100-106 degrees. A small stage at one end of the fir-lined pool regularly hosts live folk, blues, and bluegrass bands while you soak. After dark the city glow falls away and the steam rises into a genuinely dark Montana sky thick with stars. An on-site grill pours beer and wine and cooks with ingredients sourced from within fifty miles.
The move: Drive out after dinner, slip into the 100-degree pool just as the band starts and the stars come out, and split a beer between you at the edge of the steam.
📍 Before you go About 33 miles west of Bozeman on Route 84; check their soak hours and live-music nights before you go, as the snack bar switches between a winter snack bar and summer grill.
