Down a staircase under The Miner's Hotel, you knock three times on a plain door (or pick up a rotary phone) and a false wall slides open into a Prohibition-era cocktail lounge. The room occupies two actual former bank vaults, including a fur vault where Butte's mining-boom women once stored their coats. The craft cocktail list runs from classics to house originals, with tapas like bison nachos to share.

The move: Find the rotary phone, knock your way in, and split bison nachos over two craft cocktails in the old fur vault.
