Fleetwood Roller Rink
Fleetwood is one of the last classic roller rinks left in Chicagoland, open since 1957 and still rolling on its beautiful maple floor. The vibe is unapologetically disco, all colored lights and old-school skate culture, and the place turns up in the 2005 movie Roll Bounce as the neighborhood skating spot. Sessions are public-skate by schedule, so the rink is only open to drop-ins at set times.
The move: Lace up rental skates at a public session and hold hands for a couple of laps around the maple floor under the disco lights.
