Sierra Silver Mine Tour
A retired hard-rock miner straps you into a hard hat and guides you into a real silver mine, demonstrating the actual drilling and mucking methods used in what's billed as the richest silver district on Earth. You ride a classic trolley to and from the portal while getting a narrated spin through historic Wallace. Tours run about 75 minutes and leave every half hour on a daytime schedule, daily in season (May through mid-October). Ticket office at 509 Cedar St.
The move: Don hard hats and ride the trolley into a working-era silver mine for a retired miner's hands-on demonstration underground.
📍 Before you go Seasonal operation (roughly spring through fall) with tours departing on a set daytime schedule; the mine is cool and damp, so bring a layer and closed shoes.
