Curious Garden

A quiet natural-history 'wonder cabinet' that started as a garden-antiques store and drifted toward fossils, skulls, taxidermy, minerals and unexpected specimens. It sits right beside its more famous neighbor and is the deeper cut of the two.

The move: Browse the specimen shelves together hunting for a shared oddity — a fossil, a tiny skull, or a mineral — to take home as a relationship totem; check their Facebook for occasional specimen/terrarium workshops you can do as a pair.

📍 Before you go Find it on Garland Road in East Dallas, a strip storefront tucked right next to the Dallas Arboretum (its "more famous neighbor") along White Rock Lake — easy to blow past at speed, so watch the addresses. Inside is a winding maze of small rooms, so give yourselves time to wander rather than rushing a single aisle. Daytime works best; this is a browse-in-good-light kind of place. The specimen and terrarium workshops run only occasionally, so check ahead before counting on one. Pair it with a loop around the Arboretum or a walk along White Rock Lake's trails next door.
