Entry No. 1 — the Dallas file — filed under: speakeasy

Room 520

Billed as the smallest cocktail bar in Dallas, this 15-to-25-seat speakeasy hides inside a disguised guest room at the SOVA Hotel. You 'check in' at the front desk for a key with a passcode, ride the elevator up, follow the faint music to the unmarked door, and punch in the code to step into a Japanese-inspired cocktail den with a seasonally rotating menu.

The move: Book the Friday or Saturday 6-10pm window, check in at the SOVA desk together, then hunt down the disguised room using your passcode and split a flight of the Kyoto-style cocktails in the tiny lamplit space.

📍 Before you go Room 520 lives inside the SOVA Hotel on Commerce St at the edge of Downtown, an easy walk to Deep Ellum and the Dallas Farmers Market for dinner or a nightcap before or after. There's no street signage for the bar itself: check in at the hotel desk for your passcode, take the elevator up, and follow the music down the hall to the unmarked door. SOVA has a few free first-come spaces behind the building plus paid lots alongside and across the street (ask the desk for the lot code). It runs weekend evenings only and seats just a couple dozen people, so treat reservations as essential and confirm the current schedule before you make the trip.

Where: 2105 Commerce St, Dallas, TX 75201 (inside SOVA Hotel)

Hours: Friday and Saturday evenings only, roughly 6-10pm; reservations strongly encouraged given ~15-25 seats.
