Saint Germain Foundation "I AM" Sanctuary
Take up nearly a full acre of Capitol Hill: a 14,000-square-foot Colonial Revival mansion (the 1915 Blackmer Mansion) plus carriage house, gazebo, and pergolas all painted ghostly white, a literal purity tenet of the group that owns it. That group is the Saint Germain Foundation, a 1930s 'ascended masters' movement founded after Guy Ballard claimed Saint Germain appeared to him on Mount Shasta — and whose mail-fraud case reached the US Supreme Court in 1944. Neighbors have whispered about it for decades; a 2025 Denverite investigation finally pieced the story together. It sits behind its white walls today, mostly empty except a caretaker.
The move: Stroll the Ogden Street sidewalk past the all-white compound, read each other the Supreme Court 'I AM' backstory, and try to spot the small sanctuary sign — a look-but-don't-enter curiosity walk (it is private property).

Stay on the public sidewalk: this is active private religious property on a dense residential block, so look but don't enter, keep your voices down, and don't photograph anyone who happens to appear. Go in daylight, when the all-white surfaces glow brightest — after dark there's nothing to see. There's no lot, so park on the street, then make an afternoon of it: Cheesman Park, the grand Capitol Hill mansions, and the Colfax and East 6th Avenue cafes are all an easy walk away.
