Sidewalk Joy Free Little Art Galleries
Tiny plexiglass-roofed gallery cabinets bolted to the sidewalk in front of people's homes, stocked with original mini-art you're meant to take and leave — Little Free Libraries, but for art. There are 20+ Colorado spots on the Worldwide Sidewalk Joy map, including a hand-built one at 30 E Easter Ave in Littleton. Part of a movement a Portland artist started during the pandemic; the individual cabinets and what's inside them are constantly changing. Walk past one without the map and you'd never clock it.
The move: Pull up the Sidewalk Joy map and turn it into a low-key scavenger hunt — drive or bike between a few Littleton/metro cabinets, each leave a tiny doodle or trinket, and take home a stranger's mini-artwork as a souvenir of the date.
