Westword crowned this Best Suburban Record Store in 2025 and called it 'easy to miss but well worth discovering' - which is exactly right, because it's set back from Broadway in an utterly unmarked Englewood strip mall. Owner Joe Magoonaugh, a Chicago transplant, grew the whole thing out of an online concert-poster hustle, and the shop now holds 100,000-plus records with only pristine copies put out on the floor. The layout is small but doesn't feel it, the prices are fair, and the service is genuinely doting. You'd drive past it a hundred times and never know.
The move: Go on a weekend, hunt for a record that means something to one of you, and grab a limited concert poster on the way out to hang somewhere you'll both see it.
📍 Before you go It's at the south end of Broadway in Englewood, not the famous Antique Row blocks farther north - and it's genuinely easy to blow past, since it sits set back inside an unmarked mini strip mall with no Broadway-facing sign. Trust your GPS, pull into the shopping-center lot (there's free off-street parking), and look for it tucked among the storefronts. Weekend mornings get you first pick of freshly graded stock; Sunday hours are the soft spot, so check ahead. Selling records too? Staff will help haul crates in from your car. Afterward, make a day of it and browse north up Broadway's long vintage-and-thrift corridor.
