Denver Ecstatic Dance
Every Sunday morning a roomful of sober strangers in the Highlands move however they want — no booze, no phones, no chit-chat on the floor — guided live by a DJ instead of small talk. It opens with a somatic warm-up, builds into a two-hour ecstatic set, and lands in a savasana and closing circle, with an optional integration circle after. Sliding-scale admission means nobody's priced out (roughly $12 with a pass up to $40 at the door). It's a whole parallel Denver morning culture that the brunch-and-bottomless-mimosa crowd has no idea exists.
The move: Skip brunch and do a Sunday-morning ecstatic dance instead — arrive for the 10am somatic warm-up, dance the set with zero pressure to talk, then debrief the weirdness over coffee afterward. Surprisingly intimate for a sober activity that doesn't lean on alcohol.
