The Cowboy Forge Blacksmith School

A genuine working blacksmith shop in southwest Colorado run by Steve, a regional native who has been forging since 1996 and teaching since 2012. He offers blacksmithing classes for all skill levels in daytime and evening slots, plus open-forge time, in a real shop that also does custom wrought iron and architectural metalwork. This is hammer-and-anvil, sparks-flying instruction, not a demo.

The move: Drive down for a private blacksmithing class and forge a hook, leaf, or small tool from raw steel at the anvil together.

📍 Before you go It's about a 2.5-hour drive south of Grand Junction; classes are private/by-arrangement, so call (970) 903-4036 to schedule. Wear natural-fiber clothing and closed shoes.
