Entry No. 5 — the Los Angeles file — filed under: witchy
Botanica Luz Del Dia
Opened in 1984 by Salvadoran immigrant Maria Elena Ceron, who has read tarot for over 40 years, this is billed as the longest-running botanica in Los Angeles. Shelves are packed with veladoras (devotional candles), oils, herbs, saint statues and amulets drawn from folk-Catholic and espiritismo traditions. Beyond retail, they perform limpias (spiritual cleansings) by appointment and offer tarot readings with Señora Elena and other readers.
The move: Choose a saint candle and a protection herb bundle together, then book a limpia spiritual cleansing as a couple.
