Old Town Music Hall Silent Films with the Mighty Wurlitzer

Inside a 188-seat 1921 theater, two musicians installed a 1925 Wurlitzer theater pipe organ rescued from a Long Beach movie palace, and it has been kept alive ever since. The instrument has more than 2,600 pipes plus xylophone, marimba, piano, drums and cymbals all played from a single four-keyboard console. Evening programs pair silent-film classics with live organ accompaniment exactly as audiences heard them a century ago, alongside ragtime and jazz sing-alongs.

The move: Catch an evening silent-film screening and let the live pipe organ score the whole movie in front of you.

📍 Before you go Open weekends, roughly Saturday and Sunday; a single screen with limited seats, so check the schedule and buy ahead. Evening shows are the after-dark draw.

Where: 140 Richmond St, El Segundo, CA 90245
