Perched on a forested hillside inside three historic 1830s board-and-batten cabins, this offbeat folk-art sanctuary is where the 'Happy Birthday' song was penned and where visitors engage in tactile fiber arts and traditional wooden loom weaving.

The move: Take a hands-on mini-weaving workshop inside the Esta Cabin to card raw wool fibers, operate vintage tabletop looms, and weave a souvenir mug rug coaster to take home.
