Thomas Edison House

A modest 1850s shotgun cottage where 19-year-old Thomas Edison rented a room in 1866 while working as a night-shift telegrapher, before being fired for spilling sulfuric acid on his boss's desk.

The move: Peer through glass cases filled with Edison's early cylinder phonographs, brass desk fans, kinetoscopes, and early incandescent light bulbs before taking a stroll through historic Butchertown.
