A roughly 25-year-old Missoula institution specializing in cut and rough gemstones, with a deep selection of crystals, mineral specimens and rock-hounding gear. It leans more toward the lapidary and rock-shop end of the spectrum than spell supplies, but for crystal-curious metaphysical folks it is the largest stone inventory in town. The compact weekday-plus-Saturday hours make a visit feel like finding a hidden warehouse of stones.

The move: Go on a slow Tuesday afternoon and challenge each other to find the weirdest mineral specimen under $20, then trade them as keepsakes.
