Grounds For Sculpture — Roadside & Outdoor Oddities in Philadelphia

Entry No. 38 — the Philadelphia file — filed under: sculpture park

Grounds For Sculpture

A 42-acre park built on the old Trenton Speedway/state fairgrounds, holding over 270 sculptures - including Seward Johnson's life-size 3D walk-in recreations of Impressionist paintings and monumental abstract steel pieces towering over koi ponds. Once briefly home to a 26-foot Marilyn Monroe.

The move: Get timed tickets, wander until dusk, and see how many sculptures you can find that are taller than a house before circling back to Rat's Restaurant for the Monet-bridge view.
