Behind an unassuming South Flores storefront is a 6,500-square-foot warehouse of Texas folk magic: spell kits labeled things like "Bring Him Back" and "Court Case," walls of magic powders and mystical oils, running under fluorescent light since 1979 and still self-described as an "old-time occult shop."

The move: Wander the aisles together hunting for the strangest-labeled candle or powder you can find, then ask staff to explain what it's actually for — the deadpan explanations are half the fun.
