Spruce Street Suspension Bridge

A 375-foot wood-and-cable footbridge built in 1912 by a two-term San Diego mayor, strung 70 feet above Kate Sessions Canyon, that visibly sways underfoot — locals nicknamed it the "Wiggly Bridge" for the way it bounces if you walk with any rhythm, and generations of kids have deliberately tried to make it swing.

The move: Cross it at dusk when the canyon fills with shadow, feel it wiggle, then continue on to the neighboring Quince Street Bridge (a wooden trestle a few blocks over) to make a mini self-guided "bridge crawl" through Bankers Hill's canyons.
