Full Moon Kayak Tour — Paddle Sports Center

A handful of nights a year, paddlers clip on headlamps and launch from the harbor timed so the sun sinks into the ocean to the west at the same moment the full moon rises over the mountains to the east — the outfitter, running tours since '91, calls it the only guided tour of its kind in California.

The move: Book the 2-hour, $99-per-paddler Full Moon Paddle (2026 dates include June 28, July 29, Aug 28, Sep 25, and Oct 25), glide past the breakwater as pelicans and sea lions surface in the dusk, and watch the moon come up from the middle of the water.
