Fly Fishing Discovery Center (Fly Fishers International)
The national headquarters of Fly Fishers International doubles as a small museum and research library devoted entirely to the craft of fly fishing. On display are angling artifacts, antique tackle, and fishing-related artwork, tracing the history of flies, rods, and reels, alongside an expert-curated library on freshwater, saltwater, casting, and fly tying. It's a quietly nerdy, weekday-hours temple to one very specific outdoor obsession, tucked just outside Bozeman in Livingston.
The move: Tour the antique tackle and tied flies, then take a free summer casting lesson on the lawn together.
📍 Before you go Roughly Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; free casting lessons Tue/Thu evenings and a 1pm museum walk in summer. Confirm hours by phone before driving. ~25 miles from Bozeman.
