Firebird Community Arts
A warehouse-turned-studio nonprofit founded in 1990 that uses glassblowing and ceramics as community healing, including its Project Fire program for youth affected by gun violence. Public hands-on classes are open to all skill levels and ages 10 and up, so a couple can blow their own glass bowl with an instructor at the bench. Taking a class here directly supports trauma-recovery and workforce-training programs on the city's South and West sides.
The move: Sign up for a blow-your-own-glass session and shape a bowl together while knowing your class fee funds the studio's healing programs.
