Black Sky Brewery
Denver's only heavy-metal brewery, shredding away in a black-walled warehouse off South Santa Fe since 2013. Founder Harry Smith put in 11 years brewing at Breckenridge before opening this, and it shows: 23 taps pouring house beers with names like Demonseed IPA and Toxic Zombie Pale Ale, plus genuinely good New Haven-style thin-crust pizza (the Beef Injection and Chicago Dog are local favorites). Band posters, concert lighting, and album-release shows turn the taproom into a full-on metal cultural venue most of the city has never set foot in.
The move: Split a New Haven-style pie and a flight of demon-named beers, then stick around for whatever local metal band is playing the back of the room. Loud, dark, and zero pretension.
