Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts

This 26-acre former brickyard has been a ceramics residency since 1951, and decades of resident artists have left site-specific work scattered across the grounds. Walking the self-guided loop you stumble on ceramic faces, teapots, beads, spools and abstract figures sprouting from the brush, the old beehive kilns, and the ruins of the Western Clay Manufacturing Company. More than 600 artists have passed through, and you can watch current ones at work in the studios. The grounds and galleries are free during daylight hours.

The move: Grab the self-guided map at the visitor center and hunt for hidden ceramic creatures across the old brickyard, then peek into the working studios.

📍 Before you go Grounds open daylight hours; galleries Tue-Fri 11-5, Sat 12-4. Self-guided map at the visitor center. Ask permission before photographing artwork.

Where: 2915 Country Club Avenue, Helena, MT 59602
