Ecstatic Dance OKC — Sound, Soak & Movement in Oklahoma City

Entry No. 9 — the Oklahoma City file — filed under: speakeasy

Ecstatic Dance OKC

A sober, intentional freeform dance gathering held the third Friday of the month, with a live DJ, occasional musical performers, and sound baths in a safe, sacred environment. Donation-based (suggested minimum around $7), no one turned away, no booze and no talking on the floor.

The move: Go all in on a third-Friday dance together: no phones, no talking, just move however the music moves you for a couple hours, then debrief the weirdness over late-night non-alcoholic drinks.

📍 Before you go This freeform gathering happens in Film Row, OKC's compact historic film-distribution district just west of downtown; look for The Paramount Building at 701 W Sheridan, a restored 1920s exchange house. Weekend evenings make street and lot parking easy. It's an evening, barefoot-or-socks affair, so wear comfortable layers and bring a water bottle, and note the room can shift to an alternate spot in bad weather, so confirm the location beforehand. Newcomers are welcome; arrive a few minutes early to settle in. Afterward, Film Row's bars and breweries sit steps away for that debrief drink.
