A candle-lined storefront on Blanco Road that's part pharmacy, part sanctuary: shelves of dressed candles, palos, and incense sit beside a tarot reader who works the property, and during the pandemic's worst months neighbors lined up here for spiritual remedies as much as retail goods.

The move: Split up for a bit — one of you gets a walk-in tarot reading while the other picks out a limpia candle and a bundle of copal, then compare notes on what the cards said out on the sidewalk after.
