Cernan Earth and Space Center — After Dark & Night Sky in Chicago

Entry No. 64 — the Chicago file — filed under: after-dark

Cernan Earth and Space Center

A small, unflashy planetarium on the Triton College campus named for Apollo 17 commander Gene Cernan, the last person to walk on the moon. On Saturday evenings it runs back-to-back domed programs, including a 7pm sky show and an 8:30pm laser light show under the projection dome. Tickets are cheap, the crowds are local, and there's a free 'Star Store' gift shop attached.

The move: Catch the Saturday-evening sky show followed by the 8:30 laser light show, then browse the little Star Store.
